Park City and Family Reunion at Lava!

Last week we met my parents in Park City for a few days while my Dad attended some classes for work. We spent a day swimming at the Hotel, shopping and eating yummy food. The first night there the fire alarm keep going off in the elevator at Holiday Inn were we stayed. So the boys were able to check out the fire truck and Fire Fighters up close. The Fire Fighters talked to Corbin and answered all his millions of questions. Then they took both boys on a tour of the Fire Engine and gave them their own fire hats and some pencils. Corbin and Aidan loved it and thought they were so cool! Of course Corbin wants to be a Fire Fighter when he grows up and Aidan just wanted the "haat haat"(hat) as he calls it. Anyway it was good education for our boys.

Thursday morning we rushed up to Lava Hot Springs for my Family Reunion. It was great to see Cousins, Aunts, and Uncles and of course my own Brothers, Sister-in-laws, and Nieces and Nephew. We all had a great time swimming, playing games, picnicing, jumping off the high dives, and racing down the hydro-tubes. Corbin got really good at swimming around with his arm floaties and going down the hydro-tubes by himself with Dad close behind. He is Mr. Independent in the pool which is going to result into swimming lessons before the summer is over. He also loved going down the kiddie slide over and over. Corbin would say "that was awesome" when he flew off the end and made a good splash, his grin just got bigger and bigger the more he went down. Aidan liked just floating around the pool with me and watching what everyone else was doing. He did try the kiddie slide a few times and loved it more every time he went down. Aidan is getting really good at kicking his little legs for all their worth and slashing up a storm. We could get a good smile out of him if we threw him up in the air and caught him before he went under the water, or twirled him around a lot. Mostly he was so tired from not having a good nap that he was falling asleep in my arm as we floated around. All in all it was a good day for everyone! We all left tired from all that playing!

The Grass Just Got a Little Greener!

First of all, here is a few pictures of a Cookie Snatcher and his little Jailbird partner, who were suppose to be taking their naps. This is were I found them when I went to check on them, hoping they had really went to sleep since their room was so quiet. I don't know who was surprised more, but they were too cute and so surprised to be caught! When I found them I couldn't help but laugh and take their pictures.

We spent the weekend prepping and putting in some sod to try and finish filling in our yard. There are some before and after pics. We got 2 pallets of sod and spent all day Saturday laying it. We finished the front and down one side of the house. We made it around the back, but didn't quiet have enough to finish the back. Corbin and Aidan are excited to have the grass to run around on, instead of still getting in trouble for playing in the mud all the time. It was so nice to see the finished product after such a long and hot day of work, which most of it was done by Nate. He did most the lifting of the sod....it was pretty heavy, and raking, prepping, etc. I spent the day watching the boys and keeping the water jug full, and patching and unrolling the sod while trying to help prep before Nate put down more rolls. Corbin was invited to the neighbors to play all day and made himself right at home. Aidan was my Sidekick most of the day except for during his nap and when he was trying to escape our yard to go exploring to the neighbors. While we were waiting for Nate to get back with our sod, the boys were practicing riding their bikes and asking every 5 minutes where's Dad and our grass?! Corbin has finally decided he likes his bike and is getting really good at riding it. He can't wait to go out everyday and take a ride. Aidan loves to stroll behind Corbin in hopes of going someplace better then our sidewalk. But mostly he just likes to sit on his trike and watch what's going on.

After our hot, long day we took the boys out for Chinese Noodles and to see Kong Fu Panda. We all loved it, especially Corbin and he's now decided he can do Kong Fu. Aidan kept busy by shoveling in 3 cups of popcorn that lasted him through the whole movie without me having to take him out, yeah! Needless to say we were all pretty worn-out and ready for bed after the movie.

My hopes of the Boys being mellow at church, from being worn-out, were cut short when by the time Sacrament Meeting was over we'd taken Aidan out at least 3-4 times for fits and crying over taking away his crayons after he threw them on the floor and at Nate. Later he refused to go to Nursery or stay in Nursery. Corbin was great throught Sacrament Meeting but had to go sit in the hall a couple times in Primary and Class for not keeping his hands to himself and fits. Later they both took a very good nap and we had a much more pleasant day! We hope you all had a great weekend too!

Happy Father's Day!

To our Dad's and Nate: We hope you've had a Great Father's Day! We Love You and Appreciate what Great Father's you are! Happy Father's Day! I know I'm a lucky girl to have such an awesome Dad, Husband and Father-in-Law!
I'm grateful for Nate and what a good Dad he is to our boys! They worship the ground he walks on and can't wait till he's home from work so they can play with "Dad"! Nate was spoiled with a fishing pole from Corbin and Aidan and a new grill from all of us. His grill was getting close to taking it's last breath, so it was time for a new one. Love you Nate!
We went camping over Father's Day weekend with Nate's Family and had a great time! We camped at Yellow Pine Campground up Northeast of Duschene. It was a neat place with lots to do for everyone! We tried fishing again but caught nothing. Uncle Jeff managed a trout the first day and he was the only one that had any luck. We took lots of hikes around the campground with the kids to keep them busy exploring. The food was great and we were all able to cook some good dutch oven food! I think we all came warn-out and left even more warn-out from all the activities. There was lots of playing games from the little kids making things up, to the big kids playing card games.
My boys loved being with Cousins and Grandparents and expressed several times how much fun they had camping. Corbin had a blast running around and making up exploring games while playing some Super Hero with his Cousin Jared. Corbin did great sleeping in his own sleeping bag and was always the last one awake every morning. Aidan had fun digging in the dirt and stealing Dallin's hat all day. Aidan wasn't fond of sleeping in his own sleeping bag at all and ended up with us each night as long as we'd keep our arm around him he'd attempt to sleep. I'm sure he woke up several other campers with his all night crying party the second night, but everyone was good about it!
All in all it was a fun trip and we hope to do it again! Thanks Harmony for putting it together! Here are some pictures from our trip.

Gone Fishin'

Saturday was Free Fishing Day at all the Utah State Parks and the BLM was hosting it at Pelican Lake between Vernal and Roosevelt. Since Corbin got a new fishing pole for his Birthday we decided to go try it out. It rained on and off all day, and after trying for a few hours and catching nada, we went to the truck and had a picnic in the back. On the way to the truck I managed to hook Corbin in the hand(very truamatic for him and me)with his own pole. The hook was dangling as I was carrying it and pushing Aidan in his stroller to the car and Corbin ran right through the line, catching himself. His hand was barely scratched but I had to stop him from running futher and pull the hook out, then console him for a good long time. He managed to tell everyone around how mean I was! Needless to say besides weeds, on the bottom of the lake, Corbin was the only thing we caught the whole day! But we walked away with prizes for trying anyway; a new fishing pole, t-shirts for the boys that they can wear in 3 years or so, and odd-and-end fishing gear. Pretty good for ameatur fishermen/woman. Aidan had a blast watching from his stroller with Mom and babbling up a storm. His favorite time was all the walks he got to go on while waiting to see if anyone caught a darn fish! Corbin and Aidan were such good boys all day and so patient with both Nate and I as we tried to make it a fun day. We really do have the cutest and best little boys ever! We love them tons and have so much fun watching them be funny and cute while we try new experiences with them. We had a wonderful day, rain and all, being out in nature and spending time as a family doing what we love! We saw tons and tons of Swallows dancing around the sky and lake, and a few Pelicans floating on the lake they were pretty cool. I think we even got Nate to admit he was enjoying trying to fish, let's just say it's not his favorite activity! Thanks for being a good sport, Babe! We all had a good time thanks to you! After a great day and good naps on the way home it was bath and bed time. Here is a picture of the boys being "Buddas" in their towels after getting all cleaned up after fishing! We had a good day at church and home today too, the boys behaved so much better than usual, and it makes a world of difference as far as how the rest of our day goes when they are good at church! Hot Summer Fun!

Nate and I took the Boys to the Splash Park on Saturday and we had a blast playing in the water together as a family! The Splash Park is a small water playground that squirts water from all over it. It's nice 'cause there isn't a pool and it's just all smooth cement for the kids to run around on and get wet. Nate had the whole day off and it was nice to have him around so we decided to skip the work around the house and head out for a family activity. Since it was such a hot day we decided the Splash Park would be a good way to cool off and relax. Corbin of course found many friends some his age and some not, he didn't care, and spent the day getting wet. When he would get cold he'd come sit in our lap for a bit swaddled in his towel then head back out for more fun. Aidan wasn't to fond of the water and mostly shyed away from it, he did have fun visiting all the other babies and wandering around the out side of the water area. After about 30 mins. his curiousity got the best of him and he went running into the water play area. At the same time the water toys started shooting water again and soaked him before he got away. He was too stunned to even think about crying! All he could say was a big "OOOOOOH" as he was running from the water! After that Aidan would venture into the water area only if Mom was with him holding him or his hand. Aidan spent a lot of time lounging on the lawn chairs with Mom and Dad too, while snacking on chips and prezels and downing all our waters. Nate and I tried to lay out and tan on the lawn chairs so we could just watch the boys do their thing. We ended up more crispy and burnt than tan! But it was relaxing and fun to just laze around in the sun watching the boys have fun too and thinking our kids are sooo cute! It turned out to be a Great Day! Afterward we ran our errands and came home and did a bit a work, and got ready for Sunday!
