Happy Birthday Aidan!!!

My Baby Aidan is turning 2! Boy, how time flies! Aidan is a Sweetheart with lots of shy smiles that melt our hearts! Aidan loves to follow his big brother Corbin around in hopes of getting included in his play. Corbin loves to take care of Aidan and does a great job of being his big Brother as he watches out for him. I Love My Aidan and am so Happy he is my Boy! I'm glad he still likes to snuggle with me and lets me hold and rock him occasionally! We love you, Aidan!!! You are an awesome little boy with such a sweet spirit! Thank you for being a part of our family! You are a huge blessing to us and we are so glad we have you! You are a very special boy! We love being your parents and have had a blast these last 2 years with you and look forward to watching you grow and learn!

24th of July...Happy Pioneer Day!

Here we are at the Parade! This is the only thing that Vernal does to celebrate anymore....kinda sad, huh? We were hoping for something fun for the Kids to do. Nate had to work at the BLM, it wasn't a federal holiday so he doesn't get it off. So Corbin and Aidan and I took a picnic and went to the Splash Park and had a fun day playing in the water! Later we made our own pizza and lit off the rest of our fireworks that were left over from the 4th. It was a fun day, but I couldn't help remember all the fun things we did as kids and the big town celebrates we went to wether at home in Bear River or visiting Escalante. I want my kids to experience more of those things before they get too big to care.

Here are my cute little Sun Surfers soaking it up and having a picnic. They love picnics! Sometimes we have them on rainy days on our living room floor and sometimes we just go to our park and use the picnic tables.

Corbin's favorite thing at the Splash Park is the Dragon squirters. You can aim them and have a water fight with them. He spends most of his time getting hit by these and attempting to hit someone else. Corbin loves the water and is usually the last one to serender to go home. He can be freezing and shivering like crazy and still playing hard as long as someone will play with him.

Aidan kind of got into the Dragon Squirters too! He has been fun to watch lately.....he has a new passion for water and getting wet! He seeks out the water just for the thrill of getting squirted wether it's a sprinkler or the toys here at the Splash Park. He loves every minute of it and has a huge grin on his face no matter how freezing cold and shivery he is!

Here is a picture of the boys earlier in the week playing horsey with their Dad....this is one of their favorite things to make Nate do besides wrestling with them. I think he enjoys playing with them as much as they love beating on their Dad!

Aidan and Corbin both got big "owiees" recently. Aidan fell and scraped his forehead right where I accidently knicked his hairline when I cut it last. Nate nicked-named him "Frankenstein" because after the scab healed the new skin was so pale pink it really showed up good, looking much worse than it was! Corbin fell at the Splash Park of course when he was being pretty calm and anyway he kissed the cement with his nose and cheek. It left a good mark and lots of tears. I don't like it when my Boys get hurt especially when I can't fix it very well and make it stop hurting. I'm just glad they haven't hurt them selves worse and hope this is all we have to go through...probably wishful thinking, but I can hope can't I? Well that's about all we've been up to lately. We're going to attempt to fish again in the morning.....wish us luck because we're going to really need it!

Just Stuff.....

So there hasn't been anything especially exciting around here, so I'll just fill ya in on what we've been doing to keep busy and have fun. The Boys and I have been either swimming in our own yard and having lots of water fights or going to the Rec. Center to go swimming. The weather here has been HOT, HOT, HOT! It keeps trying to storm but instead we get muggy and more hot. So we just keep finding the water to cool off. We also went to the Drive-in Movies the other night and took Corbin and Aidan to see Kung Fu Panda and Hulk. The Boys did great and loved it! Of course they fell asleep by the time Hulk came on. After the movie our truck wouldn't start. Luckly Nate had driven over after work so his car was there to give me a jump. Only thing is this made the alarm go off and after a while of figeting with the battery and the alarm we got both cars home. Any way we think it's all good for now. We also attended Nate's annual work picnic with lots of yummy food and games for the kids. It was held at the City Park and there was a water balloon launch/fight, fish pond, target practice with elastic shooting guns and of course the playground. Our Boys were in Heaven and worn out by the time we headed home. Other than our usual going to church on Sunday that's about all we've been doing.

UpDate!

We have had a hectic last week! First we attempted to go fishing again for the third time and caught nothing! But the kids had fun playing in the sand and water so it was all worth since they had fun anyway!

Last Saturday night Nate's Grandpa Jo pasted away, he was 93 years old. So we traveled to Idaho friday to attend his Funeral on Saturday. The funeral was very nice and it was said over and over what a great guy Grandpa Jo was. It was good for all the great-Grandkids to hear and learn about Grandpa Jo. While we were there we had fun with all the cousins and family. Corbin and Aidan had a great time playing with all the little kids! We stayed at Holiday Inn Express and went swimming and had a fun time! We came home on Sunday a long 10 hour drive. Thankfully we rode with Nate's Parents and so Nate didn't have to do all the driving himself. Here are some pictures of the Funeral and some funny ones of the boys on the trip.

What sweet little angels! They shared a bed and did great, except I think they both managed to fall out of bed by the second night.
Corbin and Uncle Jon playing airplane at the Hospital. Grandma Jo had a bad night after the Funeral and was taken to the Hospital Saturday night. We stopped to check in and get an update before traveling back home to Utah.

To keep the boys busy on the ride up and back we let them watch movies on the Labtop. Aidan has the speakers.

They just looked so cute and funny trying their best to hear the dang movie. I think they were both thinking who's crazy idea was this!

I want to thank my Family for going to Escalante and living it up with out us and I'm so sorry I missed our first family Reunion that I planned for you all! I'm so glad no one was mad at me for having to go to the Funeral instead. Thanks for your love and understanding! I'm happy to hear everyone had so much fun and it makes me wish I was there even more! Love you guys forever! Who ever wants to take next year and plan the event let me know or I'll try and plan it again if you want me too, but I'd rather we all take turns.

4th of July Fun and Stuff!

Happy Independence Day! We had a fun day that started off with going to the Parade. Here is a picture of the boys watching the parade and keeping themselves busy by eating cotton candy! The parade was pretty good only lasted 1 hour and was pretty much made up of only local businesses and school groups. Corbin's only disappoinment was they didn't throw much candy! Here is a few pictures of cool stuff from the parade. This is the Uintah High School U'ettes and yes they performed on uni-cylces, pretty impressive, huh? And then this float was just cute all decked out in Red, White and Blue, very Patriotic!
This year I had some deeper appreciation for celebrating our country and it's independence. While trying to explain the holiday to my Boys I took some time to really think about what it really means to me and how happy I am to live here in this Great Country and all the freedom we take for granted everyday! It helped to really tell them simply why we put out our flag and celebrate the good old USA! Of course they loved putting out our flag and here is a picture of them helping Nate and sitting under it on the grass.
Nate had to work through the day. When he got home we went to our park and had a picnic and watched the City Fireworks then lit off our own with a few neighbors that joined us. Corbin loved the fireworks and wasn't afraid of any part of them. Aidan wasn't loving the noise and how bright they were at first but warmed up to them. Now he says "boo boo" for the sound of them. It took some coaxing to get Aidan to uncover his eyes and actually hold a sparkler on his own, but when he finally tried it he loved it and went twirling with it. Corbin was a natural with the sparklers and even managed to burn a hole in the middle of the back of his pajama shirt be for he was done. Some how he didn't even get a burn on his back, thank goodness! We all had a fun day and were exhausted by the end!

Here is something for all you Mom's (if you haven't tried this already). I made edible playdough for my Boys and they loved it! It kept them busy for awhile and the best part is they can eat all they want of it and won't get sick! Great for indoor days! This recipe is from my cousins Diane Quayle and Angie Kallmeyer Here is the recipe:
Nutty Putty
3&1/2 cups Peanut Butter
4 Cups Powdered Sugar
3& 1/2 cups Corn Syrup or Honey
4 cups Dry Milk Powder
Mix it them knead it into a dough.

I halved it for my Boys and it was plenty for both of them to have a big ball of dough.
Here is the half version:
1& 3/4 cups Peanut Butter
2 Cups Powdered Sugar
1&3/4 cups Corn Syrup or Honey
2 Cups Dry Milk Powder
