Happy Valentines Day!

We celebrated our Valentines over the whole weekend starting on Friday because Nate had to work all weekend.  We had a fancy shrimp and pasta dinner all planned for the family on Friday when Nate was called into work while we were making dinner.  At least he got to stay long enough to eat with us.  Then Saturday Morning we had a treasure hunt to find clues that lead to Valentines treats(our treasure).  The Boys had a blast running around the house finding new clues.  Then Sunday we delivered a few Valentines to our neighbors and each other.  What a fun weekend!  I love my Family and am so glad we get to have a day to celebrate it!

Nate's Birthday Bash!

What a Birthday celebration!  The Boys were excited to give presents to their Dad.

So Corbin told Nate a few weeks ago that he looked like a girl in his pajamas.  Nate's pj's are a old pair of brown cotton shorts that are starting to sprout a hole in them.  So of course Nate now have new manly jammies that are Corbin approved, a new pair of grey and black cotton shorts(this is about the only thing he will wear for pj's).

After the party started. The Boys lounging watching the good ol' t.v. after they decorated their Dad.  Nate also got a new white shirt and dress pants, exciting I know, and a photography book and new shoes that he has to go to the store with me and try on and pick out himself.  What was missing was the cards we bought at Smiths but somehow didn't get home with.  I know I always mess up somehow.

After taking Daddy to dinner at the Quarry, highly recommend going there if anyone comes out to visit.  The food is excellent!  Nate had a New York strip steak.  I had a yummy French Dip sandwich, and our Boys won over the Waitress, then had hand dipped chicken tenders and fries.  They split one Kids meal and it was plenty big enough for both of them.  They even finished off their meal, glad they were hungry.  After dinner we headed home for bedtime and homemade Oreo Cheesecake.  Nate is a Cheesecake lover and requests Cheesecake instead of cake, so we get to try many different varieties.  Happy Birthday, Nate!  Hope you had an Awesome Day celebrating You!  Love you!

As you can see the King has decided that Birthdays are for sleeping in and getting your beauty rest.  I think Corbin got to school long before Nate made it to work.  Oh well, he deserves it after all it is his Big 35!  We love you Nate, hope you have an Awesome Day celebrating the wonderful, sweet, manly YOU!  You're the Best and we are so glad you are ours!  Happy Birthday!

Go Aggies!

So this last weekend we went home to see family, celebrate Birthdays and go to a USU Aggies Basketball game.  It was a fun weekend, lots of driving in a short amount of time, but glad we got out of Vernal for a minute and were able to see all our family and some good friends.  We went to the game with Nate's Parents and our Friends the Carvers.  Unfortunately we didn't all get seats together so I didn't get a picture of them.  They are a cute, fun family and we had a blast with them before the game during dinner at Papa Kelseys, which was of course yummy!

USU did great and of course won the game!  It was a great game no cheap shots, just a good clean fun game.  Loved it!

We had great seats up at the top, with a good view of the whole court and easy access to the bathroom, etc.  Can't ask for better than that.  Glad we are keeping up the tradition of trying to get to one game a year wether it's Basketball or Football.  Good memories and a fun date with my Hubby! 

What have we been up to lately?......

So just a little update to let you know what's going on with us here in the Freezing town of Vernal.  I got a nice treat to use my last years Mother's Day gift from Nate and our Boys, which was a gift certificate to get a massage at Salon in Roosevelt.  It was very much appreciated and needed.  I then got to stay over at Holiday Inn by myself and caught up on my blogging.  Of course Nate and our Boys came and went swimming with me and stayed awhile and watched cartoons, then came back in the Morning for Breakfast.  The Boys wore Nate right out, he had to take a much needed nap while the Boys watched cartoons with me, before we all went back home.  It was a very nice weekend.  Thank you Honey and Boys again, I Love You!

A few funny things the Boys have said lately that really made me laugh.  Aidan-talking about adults and children.  "Big Daddies, and Mommies like spicy, but little boys don't eat spicy, just big ones do."
Corbin-Asked if he could dip a chip in my salsa, which of course I said sure then asked him how he liked it.  His comment "It's fire in my Mouth, but I like it can I have another dip."  Too funny!  I love to see little minds at work trying to figure all this craziness we call life out.  I also love when my Kids come up with silly things like these comments, I always need a good laugh!

Today we have had a great day!  I've been out playing in the snow with my Boys and we went sledding down our own man made hill we built in our front yard.  Then we had a snowball fight, and the Boys ran around and built snow forts and castles and of course had a battle with plastic bats while playing Star Wars.  I'm glad I forced my little munckins outside away from the T.V to get some well needed fun in the sun time!  Hope your all having a fun Winter too and staying well.  We've had our bout of sickness and we're happy to all be healthy now!

Merry Christmas to All!

Merry Christmas everyone!  We had a good one and yes, Santa did find us.  We spent Christmas home with both of our Families this year.  We are so glad we were able to go home and see everyone.  I can't say there wasn't any craziness with it, there always is.  It gets hard for us to keep a good balance of time with both Families.  No matter how hard we plan ahead to make things easier for traveling for us we still end up going back and forth almost daily the whole trip.  But it was worth it for all the fun we had.  Some of the highlights besides spending Christmas Eve and Day with Family were going to Fantasy at the Bay(Willard Bay campgrounds) and Zoo Lights(Hoogle Zoo).  If you haven't been to see them you really got too, they are awesome.  Some of you know my Aunt and Uncle LeAnn and Sonny Gilbert.  They are the ones that put theses two events on.  They have created all the lights and lots of work it takes to run them, along with some help from Family and Friends.  We love to go to see it all and can't count the number of times we've been through Fantasy at the Bay anymore, it's become tradition to go a few times each Winter.  We also enjoyed a Cousins Christmas gathering from Nate's side of the Family.

This one is for Jerry.  He asked me to post our Christmas tree.  Here it is.  We have a tradition to cut our own Christmas tree.  We went with some Friends our Neighbors that live across the street from us this year.  We had a blast and are so glad we did.

Zoo Lights!  As you can see my Dad trying to fix a strand of lights that were noticed out.  My parents stopped at every strand they saw out and fixed them, so LeAnn didn't have to make extra trips down just to do that.

As you can see we had quiet a crowd from all of my Family to Nate's Parents, it was way fun and we are so glad to have the memories of spending good time with Family!  We love you all, thanks for making this Christmas a wonderful one to remember always!

Jarvie Fest!

So Jarvie Fest is something that is put on by the BLM a few times a year.  It's held out at the John Jarvie Ranch which is a old Hideout for the OutLaws like Butch Cassidy, etc.  It sits along side of the Green River between the Border of Utah and Wyoming with Colorado not far from it.  Any way they hold an Old Fashion Christmas out there at the first of December so we went to check it out.

 

Santa comes in on a small boat to visit all the good Children.  He even leaves them with a small gift and candy cane.  Both Boys were amazed and asked Santa for a Robot with 5 buttons.

One of the activities they had were rubber gun target practice which they loved.

Another fun thing was rope making.  This had to be the Boys all time favorite activity and they were so proud that they created the ropes themselves.

Of course they had to have a stick horse race.  I don't think anyone actually won they just galloped around chasing each other.

We ended with a wagon ride pulled by 2 large Clydedale Horses they were just beautiful.  What a fun day that we think will become a tradition.  It didn't hurt that it was a gorgeous day and good weather with beautiful nature all around.  All the activities are free, run by Volunteers from the BLM.  They did have lunch available to purchase which was hotdogs, hot chocolate, pop, chips and cookies.  There were many other activities to do but so many we couldn't do them all.  We did make bird feeders out of pinecones, peanut butter and bird seed.  The Boys had fun with that too and we have reused the pinecones again to keep feeding our birds.  They do Jarvie fest in the Winter and again in the Spring or Summer.  It's defiantly something worth doing.  If anyone wants to make the journey out to visit we'll take you out there.

These are the times when I'm so excited for the memories made and being able to look back on that day and remember what fun we had spending time together as a happy family.
