Batter up!...T-Ball here we come!

Corbin offically started T-Ball last Saturday and has already had  two games.  He loves it!  We signed him up a little over a month ago and he has been asking every few days is it time for T-Ball yet?  When is it time to go to T-Ball?  He was so excited to get to the park for his first game and chattered about it all the way there.  He said this is the most awesomest greatest day!  He's on the Orioles Team and his Coach just happened to Coach his Indoor Soccer Team too.  He does a great job with a bunch of over excited, crazy 4-6yr olds.
During his last game Corbin got a chance to play fake Pitcher, he did great until the ball coming at him bounced off his mitt when he tried to catch it and hit him right in the nose.  Yes, there were a few tears and a small time out on Mom's lap for some comfort.  Then our big, tough T-Ball Player got back out there and played great the rest of the game.  Because he was a good team player and got back out there the Coach gave Corbin the game ball.  He was on cloud 9 the rest of the night.  Of course we had to go show Nate at the Hotel and called Grandpa Haws(Corbin's biggest sports fan) to brag.  Yep, I'm a proud Mom and think Corbin is doing awesome at T-Ball.  He has really liked it and been good to pay attention and learn how to play.  I'm glad he enjoys sports so much and it doesn't hurt that it gives him a way to get all that little boy energy out too.
Aidan is my little cheer partner and he's great at it!  He yells "Go Corbin!  Good Job!"  He sits right by me in his Dinosaur camp chair and snuggles up with me in the blanket when we get cold.  Last game he talked to me through the whole game asking questions about T-Ball and cracking jokes to me.  He's too funny!  He would much rather be finding away to escape from Mom so he can go play or roll down the hills close by or head for the playground.  Aidan's very interested in T-Ball and wants to know why they keep telling the players to run home and send them the wrong direction towards home.  Home to him is always the other way.  I'm sure he'll figure it out by the time it's his turn to play in a few more years.  We're glad we have something fun to do as a family that gets us all out for a bit and can't wait for all the more fun that's bound to come!

Corbin's Birthday Bash!

Corbin chose a Beach/Dragon Party for his Birthday.

We started outside in the sandbox.  When everyone was there we had a relay race.  The relay race was made up of fun noodles they had to jump over, water slingshot with a target on the fence, blowing or twirling the bubble wand, squirting the balloons on the fence and running back to the biginning.  Each child went through 5-6 times before we moved on they all seemed to love it.

Corbin was spoiled with gifts that included GI Joe, StarWars, Transformers, T-ball mitt/bat, bike helmet, new outfit, and underwear.  I'm pretty sure his favorite things were the toys.  Thank you to all that sent, or brought him gifts he loved it all!

We ended with Hot Dogs, Cheetos, Bubbling Tiki Punch, and Cupcakes.  The Bubbling Tiki Punch was the favorite, though we had to tell the Kids several times that it was safe to drink before they all dug into it and had several glasses before they went home.  For the treat bag I went to Dollar Tree and got some buckets with shovels and filled them with a bit of cheap candy, party favor sunglasses, bubbles, and a water gun.  Cheap and they all loved it...can't beat that!

Corbin wanted a Beach cupcake and Dragon cake so we combined them and I think it turned out alright.  I love the fat cheeks as he's blowing out his candles....to funny!  It was a great day and Corbin was so excited from getting a Crown to wear at school and taking treats to class(which I goofed and didn't realize the treats were twin wrapped not single.  So Corbin was a good sport and we got him his own box of Zebra Cakes to share with Aidan when he got home from school.)  to his party which he said was "awesome" and gave us a thumbs up to being invited to play at a friends house for an hour to Mcdonalds for dinner and cake and ice cream.  Wow!  I think he was spoiled pretty good!  Thank you to all that helped spoil him and make his day special from sending him gifts in the mail to calling him on the phone to wish him a Happy day, we love you all!  Sorry he wasn't here every time someone called he was either still at school or at his friend house, or at the park, he's a busy Boy, but we still really appreciate everyone that tried and that remembered his special day!

Happy Birthday, Corbin! Our big 6 yr. old!

What a cutie!  I can't believe he's 6 yrs. old, but he sure is!  What a year we've had!  Corbin went to Kindergarten this last year and absolutely loved it!  He is full of excitement and energy all of the time.  Corbin can make friends with anyone and often just starts up a coversation with people where ever we may be.  He is a great big brother and looks out for his brother Aidan and includes him when he's playing.  Corbin loves to be outside and loves to be on an adventure to where ever his imagination takes him.  C.J. his nick name given by his Grandpa whom he is named after, likes Star Wars and Spiderman.  He also likes to be read too and is doing a great job learning to read.  His favorite color right now is green, favorite subject is P.E. or recess though he is doing awesome with his numbers and Math.  Corbin is good singer and can pick up a song after only hearing it once or twice and then he sings it over and over even if he changes up the words sometimes.  C.J. loves his new puppy Piper and takes good care of her even if she uses him for a chew toy and rips lots of holes in his clothes.  Corbin has been a joy to our family since we got him 6 short years ago.  As his Mom I've enjoyed his outrageous stories and big adventures and just love being his Mom.  He's a great helper and often cleans up without being asked first so he can get outside to play.  We are so blessed to have Corbin and love him so very much!  Happy Birthday C.J. your Awesome and we're so glad you're ours!

Happy Easter and Enjoying Spring!

We finally got to uncover the sandbox!  Corbin and Aidan played together for over 1&1/2 hrs.  I kept checking on them and they were still just playing together building and digging.  Love it when they play so cute together!
Batman and Soldier Boy showed up at our house the other day!  Funny.....they love to dress up and act out adventures.
Saturday Morning their first Easter Egg Hunt done by a local Radio Station at our favorite Naples Park.   The Boys had a blast and even went together to the 0-4yr. olds.  We decided they should stick together instead of seperating them to their actual age groups.  Easier to keep track of them.  Next year we'll just put them together in the 5-8yr. olds.  That's the perk of having one that looks younger than his age and one that looks older.
After the Egg Hunt we let the Boys play at the playground while the crowd dies down.  The Naples Park just put in an awesome new playground area and the Boys love it.  It's lots of fun for adults that still like to play on the playground too!
Dyeing Easter Eggs!  It was fun to watch how paticular they got with colors and designs, so funny!  We had to keep counting them afterward to make sure they had the right ones.  They both drop one after they removed it from the dye and of course they had to eat it on the spot.  I think they had each had 3 by the time the day was over.  Funny Boys!
Easter Morning!  Yep, the Easter Bunny showed up and spoiled them!  They were a bit disappointed that they didn't get to see the real Easter Bunny.....funny thing though when we turned on the T.V. it was set to Good Morning America or something like.  Who just happened to be a guest on the show?  You guessed it, the Easter Bunny and that made the Boys day!
We had a Easter Egg Hunt planned for Easter Day when Nate got home from work, but the Boys and I had had a really terrible, not good, very bad day as I attempted to listen to Conference and entertain them too.  The fact that it was blasted cold outside didn't help much either.  So we rescheduled for Monday night when Nate got home from work and gave the Boys a challenge to be on their best behavior and be helpers through out the day.  It worked they earned their Egg Hunt and loved it even though it started to rain and got really windy and cold right as we finished up.  Anyway it was way fun and over all we had a great Easter Weekend!  We did miss seeing all of our Family since we didn't go home this year, but you all know that you are invited to come visit us anytime Holiday or not.  And we will make it a fun time if you do!  Hope you all had a Happy Easter Weekend too!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We hope you all had a great St. Patrick's Day!  We tried.  Since we are all feeling pretty crappy it was a pretty hard effort.  We all wore our green.  I made our annual Corned Beef and Cabbage meal with roasted herbed potatoes and asparagras.  We were going to go to the Rec. Center to join in the free celebration party but didn't feel up to it.  So I took the Boys and the Puppy to the park and Nate hung out on the couch at home.  I know we're big partiers!  We even skipped the Lime Sherbet for dessert, just didn't feel good enough to bother.  Hope you had a lot more excitement yesterday than we did!

Our New Addition to our Family!

Welcome the newest member of our family.  Piper was born on December 14, 2009.  We adopted her on  Febuary 20th, 2010.  She is a Boxador, which is half Boxer(her Mother) and half Labador(her Father).
As you can see our Boys adore her and they have already befriended her.  So far they have been doing great to take care of her and don't complain when they have to take her outside or for a walk.
What a cutie!  We love her already and she had been a great dog to have.  She gets excited as puppies do but she has a very calm temperment and minds pretty well.
Who couldn't love this face?
She has established herself as a good napper.  Can't say that I mind that.  I think between the Boys getting her to chase them all day and just being a puppy we've worn her right out.
So the story as to how we got her.  Nate has some Friends from work that their dog got pregnant by mistake and so they got 3 cute little Boxadors out of it.  They couldn't afford to keep them, it was costing $100  a month to feed them and their other dogs.  So they sent around a flyer and spread the word of free dogs at work on Friday and Nate called me asking if I wanted one.  We went to "look" at them on Saturday late afternoon.  There was one left who is now ours.  We figured we were crazy for getting a dog and crazy for not jumping on such a great deal since they are really good family dogs.  So we went looking for a dog house and all the other fun stuff you need to get a dog.  At 8:00pm we went back to get her and brought her home.  Also the puppies were already caught up on their shots and had their dew claws removed, less things we had to pay for.  Of course the fact that our Boys have been begging for a dog or a new baby for some time now we figured we were out of good excuses.  So yes we are suckers and we gave in.  So far we're glad we did!  I think we've all taken to Piper and she seems to have taken to us too.  And yes we are finishing our fence first thing this Spring and she will be an outside dog at my request.
