Our Family!
Nate, Jo, C.J. and Aidy

This is Us, our Family!

Nate and I met at USU and were married a year later. We stayed in Logan until Nate finished his degree, then we moved to Davis County. We lived in several different cities in Davis County. While there our family grew also and now we have our 2 handsome little boys. They are our life and we our so very happy to have them! They make everyday fun and exciting! We are now living in Vernal and loving it! Each day is an adventure and full of energy thanks to our boys! I have the blessing to be at home with Corbin and Aidan everyday thanks to my hard working Husband. I love being a Mom and a Wife! I love my family more than anything! This blog is a collection of our lives and our family love story. Happy Blogging!

Sitting in our Snow!

The Boys were dying to get outside and play, so we went out for a walk since it's been a bit warmer the last few days. It's been so warm we have a constant rain shower happening right outside our front door(we are installing gutters first of Spring!). Also the snow has melted a lot where we still have only dirt or now mud, and of course my boys have found the mud! I have to wash their shoes off everyday and all they did was walk to the car or out to get the mail with me, or so I thought. Anyway they had their snow boots on today and had a fun time romping in the snow banks, that we still have. As you can see I found a good trap for Aidan so he couldn't wander too far....he really was stuck and that was the point! He had fun just picking at the snow trying to mash it. I did help him romp around in the smaller snow banks, so he wasn't stuck there for very long. Corbin on the other hand had a great time making his tracks all over and I had to tackle him in the snow to get him to come in the house....he can run pretty fast but not so much when he's up to his knees in snow! They had fun and I had fun, it made for a good day, what more could you ask for!

I've been tagged...so here it goes...

1. His Full Name.
Nathan
2. How Long Have You Been Together?
We've known each other for 11 years, been married almost 10
and are still madly in love! We're ready for another 10 at least!
3. How Long Did You Date?
We dated for 5 months before we were engaged and
had a 5 month engagement...but we are still dating whenever
we get the chance to find a sitter or Grandma.
4. How old is he?
33 just barely, his Birthday was the first of this Month. I'm not quite
30 yet....but it seems to be creeping up on me awful fast.
5. Who eats more?
Nate does, but he's a guy and of course he's bigger than me.
6. Who said" I Love You" First?
Nate, but I said it right after. We don't go a day without telling
each other that we love them even if we are upset at the other.
7. Who Is Taller?
Nate, he's 6' 1" and I'm 5' 6& 1/2" but he still calls me shorty.
8. Who Sings Better?
I say Nate, he wouldn't agree, but I like to hear him sing at least when he
sings the hyms at church.
9. Who Is Smarter?
Nate is definately smarter in a lot of things, but I don't think I'm all that dumb.
It all depends on the subject or task at hand.
10. Who Does The Laundry?
I do!!!! I think I can count on one hand how many times Nate's done
the laundry since we've been married, but he does help me fold sometimes!
11. Who Pays The Bills?
I do mostly, but I put Nate incharge of the few bills we pay online, it works!
12. Who Sleeps On The Right Side Of The Bed?
I do, that way I can roll over on my good side(deaf ear) and not hear Nate snore!
Then we both get a good nights sleep!
13. Who Mow's The Lawn?
Time will tell.....right now we only have part of the front yard in grass(Thanks to My Parents!),
but we both like to do it and before it was who ever got to it first. I'd try and surprise Nate and have it done first, since he was working full time and going to graduate school so he would have more time to spend with us doing family stuff.
14. Who Cooks Dinner?
I do mostly because Nate only has 1 hour between one job and the next when he works both, and I try my hardest to have Dinner ready for my hard working Sweetheart! Thank you honey!
Nate is a good cook and spells me off on the weekends and cooks a great breakfast for us on Saturday Mornings.
15. Who Drives?
Nate mostly, but I do spell him off when he's tired or got homework to do.
16. Who Kissed Who First?
Nate kissed me.......I was way to shy, besides he was my First Kiss.....and only.....of course I did make it hard on him and made him wait for a while first.
17. Who's More Stubborn?
He'd say me and I say him.....it's a toss-up! I think we both win this one!
18. Who Asked Who Out First?
Nate asked me out, but I thought he was cute and fun to hang out with before he got enough of a hint to ask. Our first date was to the Michael Mclaen Christmas Concert (The Forgotten Carols) and out to a Diner type place. We shared fries and shakes....the unique thing is the place was torn down soon after, so we have a story of a place and we can't remember the name. It was a popular place for college students on Main street if anyone can remember the Name. We think the place caught fire and they had to demolish it.
19. Who Proposed?
Nate at 2nd Dam it was pretty cool and I said YES!, of course! I almost ruined it though.....Don't ever tell your boyfriend you might want to wait a year when he's already bought a engagement ring that you don't know about. Anyway we had a special date and he kept the date with me anyway and of course proposed! I knew he was the one for me, but I was worried about how we poor college students were going to make it and my solution was wait a year and save our money...but when you know their the right one and you love them to pieces why not go through it all together, so we are!
20. Who Has More Friends?
Probably Nate, he has a social life called work......I have a social life called Corbin and Aidan and who ever Corbin meets at the Grocery store. So Corbin probably has the most Friends, but Nate makes friends easily and I'm trying hard to get to know the neighbors and ward members. We both have a few really good friends we've known forever and we try to get together as much as possible. The move to Vernal, has made that harder.
21. Who Is More Sensitive?
I am and I'm mostly more moody and all the stuff we girls get to carry with us that makes us girls! Yip-eee! Nate does have a sensitive side and that's a good thing!
22. Who Has More Siblings?
Nate has 2 brothers living and a brother and sister who aren't, so 4 total.
I have 3 brothers whom I sometimes claim, when their being nice. So Nate, you win!
We love our siblings and are glad for the good relationships we have with them and their
families. We have a lot of fun together!
23. Who Wears The Pants?
Nate does though he'd probably say different. I give him a good fight when I need too, but he's the the pant wearer in our family, and that's o.k. most of the time!

I'm now tagging: Harmony, Janae and Jerilynn and anyone who wants in on this, go for it! Have a fun time! I'm excited to see everyone's answers!

Happy President's Day!

Nate had today off from the B.L.M and the boys were so excited to have their Dad home all weekend and today! The only catch was Nate had homework to do and had to work at Holiday Inn. So we met Nate at the Dinosaur Museum to give him a break from homework and time to spend with us. The boys had their usual good time running around and checking out their favorite spots! We've been so many times now that the workers know Corbin and Aidan by name. Anyway here is a picture of probably their very favorite animal at the Museum, "Manny" the Mamoth. Yep, just like the one from the movie "Ice Age". I think we are the only ones that call it that.

What we've been up to lately!

We had a Great Valentines Day and hoped you all did too! We went and had lunch with Nate at his work, then delivered some cupcakes. Corbin and Aidan got small Valentines baskets with a few treats that they tried to finish off in seconds till mean Mom put them up. We had a pizza dinner with some red velvet cupcakes we made, before Nate had to go to stinky work(Holiday Inn). They got a surprise Valentine package in the mail from Grandpa and Grandma Haws. Needless to say, they have been pretty sticky all morning with all the sucker eating! Thanks Mom and Dad! Well, by the end of the day I think we all were feeling pretty loved! Aidan has discovered climbing and his favorite spot is to climb into my rocker and watch t.v. with his blankie! I find him there often just smiling to have acomplished the task of getting in the chair. Luckly he hasn't figured out how to climb out of his crib, yet! Our Micky-D-donolds as Corbin calls it has finally reopened! They tore it down about 4 months ago, and Corbin has been asking us to go by everytime were in town to see if it's open again. So we took the boys there Friday night, they loved it of course! It has a huge new playland with foam toys, video games, air hockey, and basketball, but it has been open for about 2 weeks and it's always packed!

Love is in the Air!!!

Cute little Cupids, wouldn't ya say?! So here is my attempt to make my boys pose for what was suppose to be fun and cute pictures. I would say the pictures are cute because of course they are of my darling boys. On the other hand trying to get them to behave just to get even one really cute picture was a nightmare. They had a great time getting dressed up and Corbin even referred to himself as looking like an Angel. When they were being nice to each other and smiling they sure did look like Angels, but that pose rarely lasted long enough for me to snap the picture. Any way I tried, they kinda tried and needless to say this is what usually happens when I want to get some close-up pics with them actually looking at me. (For future note, sorry boys for making you look like you were wearing dresses. I think you really do look so very cute and handsome, as Cupids!) HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! We Love You All! Hope you all have a lovey-dovey great day!

Small Wonders....

As we have been mourning the death of our beloved Prophet Gordon B. Hinkley as well as been grateful for his chance to reunite with his wife that we'resure brought him much happiness. We have been trying to explain what's going on to Corbin. At first when we would tell him that President Hinkley has died and went to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus in Heaven, then he would ask funny questions like "Where'd he go? and Why?". As we watched the Funeral procedings on T.V. today we learned a great deal from our sweet little 3 year old spirit. As President Monson was talking and saying his closing remarks, I was talk to Corbin one more time explaining that President Hinkley when to Heaven to be with his wife and Heavenly Father and why we have funerals to honor people. He just kept saying o.k. to everything. As they were playing some of the video clips and things of the Prophet at the end, Corbin says "What's wrong with President Hinkley?" Of course we tell him again nothing is really wrong, he has died and Heavenly Father needs him more that we do now. He then says "President Hinkley is happy with Heavenly Father?" and "I am so sad, I will miss him so much!" Then Corbin sat down at his Dad's feet and you could tell by the look on his face that he was understanding what was going on and he really was sad. Oh what we can learn from the sweet inocents of children! We picked him up and gave him and Aidan lots of hugs! Corbin decided that it was o.k. for our Heavenly Father and Sister Hinkley to need President Hinkley more than we did. The rest of the day we spent as a family going to the Dinosaur Museum and running errands together, but mostly just being together and making sure we showed our love for one another. We could have cleaned the house and did a million other projects that we eventualy do need to get to. Instead we decided we needed a time-out to be together as a family and create as many memories as possible. It was time well spent and one of my favorite things to do! To all our other family members: We love you all tons and tons and we miss you all too! We hope you are all happy and well! We hope to be able to spend more time with all of you!
Love you,
the Packer Family

Ride'm Cowboy!

This morning, when Corbin and Aidan woke up, they decided that being cowboys was more fun than eating breakfast! They played chase on their horses for a good half of an hour. Santa was very good to them this year. He left them boots, hats and horses and the boys have had a blast being Cowboys!
